OpenRDS dispatching system

Radio module of the OpenRDS System

The radio module is used to remotely control conventional base radios. both analog and digital (support DMR, IDAS, NEXEDGE systems). The modules are intended for installation in a RACK 19”cabinet. It is worth mentioning that damage to a radio module element does not disable other radio communication devices.

The module connected to the system records full radio correspondence from all base radios. Regardless of the volume level set on individual panels. The level of the recorded signals enables it to be clearly reproduced.

The signaling is accessed from the level of the “OpenRDS” dispatcher console. The same like correspondence with the use of base radiotelephones. The radio module, apart from controlling and operating the radio (e.g. changing channels, transmitting, receiving), allows for correspondence with the CTCSS code squelch. Moreover, during the operation of radio devices in digital networks, it is possible to conduct communication in masked and open mode, GPS data transmission and SMS service.

Radio functions available in the OpenRDS application:
  • Automatic receipt of correspondence – without the use of sound signaling, supplemented with a transparent preview of the radio system states (listening, receiving, transmitting).
  • Virtual radio display (on the console screen) that shows the real status of the radio.
  • Possibility of simultaneous listening, receiving and transmitting on all base stations supported by the console with separate enable and disable listening for each monitored radiotelephone.
  • Control of the volume level separately for each supported radio device and additional control of the overall volume level for all devices. Adjustable console volume allows to listen to the same base station at different levels, depending on the individual settings of individual devices.
  • Send and receive text messages (of length and content as supported by the base and handheld radios) from mobile radios and vice versa.
  • The application has a map on which it is possible to visualize GPS data informing about the location of mobile radios connected to the system.
  • The system includes a central book of radiotelephony contacts operating in digital mode
  • Additionally, the system offers the “Crossband” function, ie connecting different base stations with each other on separate channels and working between networks on the basis of dynamically switched repeaters. This function allows to connect systems:
    • Analog
    • Digital
    • Analog with digital with different parameter configurations.
  • Implementation of the “Interconnect” function, ie connecting analog and digital DMR networks with telephone systems operated from the dispatch console. After using this function, the console dispatcher has the option of conference work or, after setting up the connections, dispatecher can leave the conference without disconnecting the established calls.
