What the FONET simulator is

The FONET onboard communication system simulator is training software that faithfully reproduces the interface and behaviour of the digital in-vehicle communication system. It lets operators and whole crews train in terminal operation, communication-network configuration and procedures in a safe, virtual environment — without using real equipment or vehicles.

Use

The simulator supports individual and team training: terminal operation, integrating the vehicle radio and intercom, and conducting communications in routine and emergency scenarios. Instructors define exercises, monitor progress and repeat scenarios as many times as needed.
