Vessels Stability SIM is a simulator designed for training in the fundamentals of buoyancy, watertight integrity, and hull construction of a floating vessel. The module is used to visualize the impact of mass distribution, compartment flooding, and external factors on the stability and behavior of a ship in marine conditions.

Component elements:
  • Ship hull model with realistic subdivision into watertight compartments.
  • Training pool with a tethering system for model stabilization.
  • Capability for simulated flooding of selected compartments.
Scope of training:
  • Ship hull construction and design
  • Concepts of buoyancy, displacement, center of gravity, and metacenter.
  • Longitudinal and transverse stability of a vessel
  • Principles of hull subdivision into watertight compartments.
  • Analysis of emergency scenarios (flooding, listing, sinking)
  • Vessel response to changing conditions (cargo shift, asymmetric flooding)
Didactic features:
  • Simulation of model response depending on:
    • Flooding of individual compartments.
    • Shifting of mass within the vessel
    • Action of external forces (tethers, gravity).
  • Possibility of creating emergency scenarios and their course.
  • Presentation of effects in the form of realistic 3D animation.
  • Possibility of conducting theoretical and practical classes combined with observation of a physical model.
