N 5800H

The N 5800H simulator is a professional-grade HF radio training solution that replicates the operation and user experience of N 5800H-MP class stations. Designed for military and civil training environments, it provides a faithful graphical and behavioral emulation of front and rear panels, display elements, and handset operation, enabling realistic practical exercises without the need for physical radio hardware.

The application supports a full set of operational features: power on/off, display of device states, modulation selection, frequency entry per channel, channel presets, and live monitoring (eavesdropping) of selected frequencies. The radio display persists the parameters set during the login session. If frequency, modulation, and mode match those of another simulated station, an acoustic (voice) link is established. Communication is simplex and active only while the PTT button is pressed; pressing PTT also mutes the receiving audio to emulate real-world behavior.

N 5800H integrates with the NowaSim ecosystem, enabling centralized management of multiple training stations over LAN. Instructors use a dedicated application to view station availability, current frequency/modulation/power settings, and PTT/SQUELCH/CARRIER statuses. They can remotely start, stop, switch simulators, and monitor ongoing sessions. All activities are logged for post-exercise analysis, assessment, and record keeping.

The simulator supports voice connectivity between different simulated radio types when physical radios or configurations allow, and it can simulate acoustic interference and equipment faults to train operators in handling degraded conditions. Scenario customization allows instructors to craft exercises tailored to specific training objectives, increasing the realism and pedagogical value of each session.
